The images shown are taken from my ongoing documentary project titled “between places”. The project is about capturing strangers in a range of suburban environments.
The project started out as a short series shot in Orlando, USA last October. It has developed into a series of portraits that challenge’s themes of individuality.
The concept of the project was inspired by Joel Sternfields series “Stranger Passing” a challenging and reflective body of documentary photography capturing strangers in various environments. The work gave a reflection on what society appeared as at the end of the 20th century.
“Between places” acts as a modern equivalent to this, reflecting the complex relationship between individuals in their perceived environments.
My final major project was just the beginning of this ongoing series and with several more trips planned to America and beyond, I aim to one day have this body of work completed in a published photobook.
